Submitting your work:
Category and Genre:
Original Creative work may be submitted in the following categories:
- Short Feature Films (Fictionalized films between 30 and 60 minutes in duration)
- Short Shorts (Fictionalized or Experimental films up to 30 minutes in duration including animated films)
- Documentary Films (Non-Fictional work of any length)
Format:
The work may originate on any of the following formats: 35mm, 16mm, DV, DigiBeta, Beta SP or U-Matic Hi-Band. An exception may be made for outstanding experimental work done on VHS. However, for the purposes of screening at ‘short cuts', we will require you to transfer work originating on video to either DV or DVD .
Selection and Time Frame:
To submit work for the screenings, there is no deadline as the screenings happen every second Sunday of the month, please send a DVD / DV ( PAL ) copy of your work along with the filled Entry Form to the address given below. You must also submit 5 stills from the film and a photograph of the director, synopsis and a brief on the production and director. Any additional material, such as posters, pamphlets, additional stills etc. will also be welcome.
You may submit as many works as you want but please submit a separate DVD / DV for each work. Each DVD / DV should be properly labeled with the title of the work, name of the director, name of the producer or copyright owner, language, and length of the work in minutes.
A selection committee will view all entries. If your submitted work is selected for screening at ‘short cuts', you will be notified by e-mail.
Eligibility:
Films should have been produced in the last two years. There are no restrictions on previous screenings of submitted work at other clubs, festivals or its broadcast anywhere in the world. But for local entries from Hyderabad , the screenings at ‘short cuts' should be the premiere screening of the work in the city.
Short Cuts is free for genuine film makers. We do not levy any fee for the entries.
