A quote that we all have often heard is ‘winners never quit and quitters never win', now not quitting and moving on also means to persevere. Persevere against all odds and impediments until that goal is won, irrespective of how big or small that goal is for the rest of the world. It is this perseverance that makes legends of common men. The theme ‘Winners all the Way' is a tribute to all those people.

Igor Strembitskyy, Taika Waititi & R.P.Patnaik are winners in their own right and have taken time to relish their work, knowing that scaling the mountain is what makes the view from the top so exhilarating.

‘‘Short Cuts' in its fifth edition of the monthly mini-festival screenings brought a collection of award winning and critically acclaimed short films made by these filmmakers on Sunday, August 14th 2005, 7pm at Prasad Lab's Preview Theatre.

‘Wayfarers' a 10 minutes documentary directed by Igor Strembitskyy is the first Ukrainian film to be chosen to the Official Selection (Short Film Competition) of Festival de Cannes and has won the prestigious Palme d'Or at Cannes this year. This short film was also an official selection at the prestigious Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

Apart from this year's Oscar Nomination, ‘Two Cars One Night' directed by Taika Waititi has won Awards at the prestigious Berlin Film Festival, Oberhausen Film Festival, Aspen Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival, Otago Film Festival, Seattle Film Festival, Hamburg Short Film Festival, New Zealand Film Awards etc., to name a few.

As part of ‘Short Cuts' effort to promote local filmmakers and give them a platform to showcase their films on par with acclaimed and celebrated filmmakers from across the world, ‘Short Cuts' had the exclusive world premiere of '22 Minutes' by R.P.Patnaik. He is the most sought after music director in the South Indian film industry with the greatest hits in the Telugu film industry under his belt. Over a dozen record breaking musical hits and a whole lot more on the anvil, R.P.Patnaik has received the prestigious Filmfare Award for three consecutive years, he has also won Nandi Award in 2001. R.P Patnaik's first ever-live show drew a whopping 600,000 people to the event! R.P.Patnaik has achieved success against all odds, '22 Minutes' a short film, which was shot on 35mm with Dolby Digital Sound, is his Directorial debut film and already talks are on for his first feature film as a director with leading actors.
