In its third edition, Short Cuts presented a very strong collection of short films and documentaries from around the world directed by women directors as part of the 'Women in Cinema' theme. We screened this year's Oscar winner WASP by Andrea Arnold; we also screened the multi award winning and breathtaking STEALING INNOCENCE by Nancy Stein.

Taking further the initiative of promoting talent from Hyderabad Short Cuts screened two films by two Hyderabadi women directors. We had the touching and superbly directed SAND IN MY NOSTRILS by Poojita Chowdhury and a very intense 24 TIMES 7 by Sini, which were premiered exclusively at Short Cuts.

It was indeed great to see an overwhelming response to the screening as the venue was bristling with glitterati and who is who of the city and as the evening drew to a close the audience was wanting some more! Great encouragement for Short Cuts to come up with more such themes and films from across the world.
