‘Short Cuts Exclusive’ @ ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas’


India’s premiere monthly mini-festival for short films and documentaries ‘Short Cuts’, as part of its ‘Short Cuts Exclusive’ screened a collection of award winning and critically acclaimed short films made by Hyderabadis and NRI’s as part of the enchanting cultural shows at the ‘A.P.Pavilion’ in ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas’ at Hitex Centre on the 7th and 8th Jan 2006 from 6pm onwards.

‘Short Cuts Exclusive’ is a step towards screening the crème de la cream of short films for the exclusive pleasure of film lovers. ‘Short Cuts Exclusive’ will feature exclusive screenings of award winning and critically acclaimed short films, seminars, workshops, film festivals, etc., from time to time.

The fourth ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas’, which was held at Hyderabad, strengthened the symbolic relationship between India and its diaspora where in a large number of overseas Indian delegates participate in a convention, which was organised, by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Govt. of A.P., and FICCI.

Ashvin Kumar’s Oscar nominee ‘Little Terrorist’, Umesh Kulkarni’s National Award winner ‘Girni’, Shravan Katikaneni’s brilliantly made ‘Blur’, Sini’s sensitively made ‘24 times 7’ and the exclusive premiere of Poojita Chowdhary’s ‘Gender Bender’ were screened on the 7th Jan 2006 from 6pm onwards.

Sudhakar Reddy’s National Award winner ‘Ek Aakash’, Student Oscar Award nominee Ajita Suchitraveera’s ‘The Solitary Sandpiper’, Anand Alaggapan’s acclaimed short ‘No Exit’, the most sought after music director R.P.Patnaik’s directorial debut film ‘22 Minutes’, and the exclusive world premiere of Nikhil Acharya’s ‘Sign on the wall’ were screened on the 8th Jan 2006 from 6pm onwards.
